Poncho arrived at our shelter on 01/19/12 Age: 1 1/2 yrs per vet Size: 37.4 lbs. Poncho was picked up in a small town near Dodge City, Mary from this town saw the dog and wanted to save him. He had a broken leg, a cast was put on, and will need to be rechecked 3 wks from 01/19/12. Mary paid all the vet bills, including his neuter, cast, shots, hwt, and deworming with Strongid and Drontal Plus, plus Capstar for fleas and Frontlined. Poncho was very anemic from all the fleas on his body that there was hair loss which is coming back. Per the vet must be on puppy food. Poncho is ok with dogs of his size however with the cast I have kept him alone but he did open the gate and get with others and was just fine. Small dogs maybe need to watch him with, his size ok with. As Mary covered all the vet bills so far. Poncho went to vet 02/14/12 for an X ray, the leg was not healing so vet said it was best to remove completely, he was also hitting his tail on crate, wall etc. had a sore and bloody so we also docked his tall. Adoption fee is $326.20. Unless some kind person or persons would sponsor him this covers the new vet bill of removing the leg and tail.
